Da Vinci Exhibition

Leonardo da Vinci (1452–1519) was an Italian polymath of the High Renaissance, active as a painter, draughtsman, engineer, scientist, theorist, sculptor, and architect. In 1502, Leonardo submitted a design for a bridge to Ottoman Sultan Bayezid II. This bridge, at 280 meters, would have been the longest in the world, spanning the Golden Horn and connecting Istanbul to Galata. However, Leonardo’s design was not selected, as he only provided the drawings and no instructions on how to construct it.

In 2018, an exhibition in Istanbul showcased Da Vinci’s work. Among all the exhibition materials from Italy, Yurdaer Architecture was responsible for building a model of this bridge in Istanbul, following the original design.
